Crafted with a bigger purpose
The Little Market is a nonprofit organization started by Lauren Conrad and Hannah Skvarla that supports artisans and producers in underserved communities around the world. Their mission is anchored in the fundamental belief that every person has the right to dignified work and fair wages. The website served as marketplace to celebrate the skills and cultural techniques of artisans and provide educational information about fair trade, human rights, and social justice issues.
As the Director of Ecommerce, I led the cross-functional effort to create an optimized web experience and checkout flow. One of the biggest issues solved through the new site was creating a clear educational user flow for the customer that not only highlighted the value of the handmade techniques, but allowed users to easily learn more about the artisans while balancing the traditional e- commerce best practices.
Through my tenure, I redesigned the entire web experience, working in tandem with a development team to implement flexible custom modules, a dynamic CPG, a native upsell system, and custom gifting portal.
The updates allowed for clear brand messaging across the site, cross sell opportunities, artisan education, and multiple product touch point giving a friction-free shopping experience through checkout. In collaboration with the marketing team, I also lead the charge in developing an integrated digital marketing strategy complete with nurture campaigns, paid acquisition, SEO, and SMS.

↳The Results
As a result, e-commerce experienced growth in returning customer rate, time on site, and a 2% YoY increase in revenue. Our retention strategy, nurture campaigns, and the introduction of a gift set system led to a higher average order value, especially during the holidays where gift sets became the top converting product.
